The NFC West sent three teams to the playoffs, with the Los Angeles Rams visiting the NFC South champion Carolina Panthers -- whom they lost to in Week 14 -- and the San Francisco 49ers visiting NFC East champions Philadelphia Eagles. The NFC North's Green Bay Packers and division champion Chicago Bears will face off in an intra-division showdown.

Reed has been listed on Seattle's injury reports the last two weeks with a wrist injury but played in their win over the Washington Commanders last Sunday night and was a full participant in practice all three days this week.

For the previous eight opponents, they have all seen the same thing happen the following week after playing the Cowboys. They have all scored fewer points the week after playing Dallas than they did when they lined up against the Cowboys. For seven of those eight teams, they scored fewer points the week before playing Dallas too. The only team to break the trend of scoring more the week before was Washington.

After missing the Washington Commanders' defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, quarterback Jayden Daniels was back in the lineup for a crucial Sunday Night Football clash with the Seattle Seahawks. This was the morale boost everyone associated with the franchise needed at a critical time. There was no Terry McLaurin for Daniels to depend upon once again. The wide receiver reaggravated his quad/hip flexor injury in his first game back, and reports suggest he might be out until after the bye week. But with the former LSU standout under center, fans always feel like Washington has a chance.
